Since the time of its foundation, the Disney world resort has become one of the most famous and favorite resorts and entertainment parks in the world. After founding, constructing and opening in 1955 its first Disney Land Park in California, Walt Disney felt like he wanted to further extend his business and create another park to add to the already existing one. Nevertheless, this decision was based also on some statistics, which have shown that only two percent of all the Disney land visitors came from the country east of the Mississippi river, though that is where over seventy five percent of all the United States population dwells.

Disney world was opened on October 1^st, 1971 near Orlando City, Florida. Presently to this Disney world resort belongs the land property of over forty seven square miles and it has four main parks in it. Those are The Magic Kingdom with the Cinderella Castle as its main attraction, Epcot with Spaceship Earth, the geodesic sphere, Disney-MGM Studios with The Sorcerer's Hat, though formerly the "Earful Tower", and finally Disney's Animal Kingdom with the Tree of Life.

The Disney world resort has also two water parks, an athletic complex, world class golf courses and a downtown area with numerous shopping, dining and entertainment venues. Besides, the Disney world resort owns a number of hotels and inns. In addition, there are many privately owned hotels, ready to serve Disney world's visitors. All these parts of the Disney world resort have made the park one of the best world's places for spending vocations and holidays and especially the family ones. People come from all over the world to visit the Disney world resort at least for once in their lives. The opening of Disney world in Orlando area has made this city very attractive for tourists.

Every Disney world resort park has a number of its unique attractions. Here are the best ones of all the four inner Disney world parks. The Magic Kingdom, for instance, has The Haunted Mansion, Pirates of the Caribbean, "it's a small world", the Space Mountain and many others. Epcot has the Test Track, Mission: SPACE , Soarin', Spaceship Earth, etc. Disney-MGM Studios attracts people by its Lights, Motors, Action! Extreme Stunt Show, Rock 'n' Roller Coaster, The Twilight Zone Tower of Terror and Fantasmic!. Disney's Animal Kingdom allures by its Kilimanjaro Safaris, Primeval Whirl, Kali River Rapids, Expedition Everest, DINOSAUR, Pangani Forest Trail, Maharajah Jungle Trek, etc.

Nonetheless, such a large resort requires significant expenditures for its maintenance. Disney world's streets and parks have to be cleaned every night, trees have to be trimmed and watered. The Disney Company spends over one hundred million dollars every year for the maintenance of its wonderful Magic Kingdom and all its vast territory and attractions.
